Run to Feed the Hungry THANKSGIVING DAY in Sacramento

One of the greatest Thanksgiving haps in Sacramento is the Annual Run to Feed the Hungry!

Run to Feed the Hungry has become an annual holiday tradition for countless area families. Beginning in 1994 with only 800 runners, the event now ranks as Sacramento Valley's largest annual run & fun run/walk. In 2008, over 28,000 participants attended and we met our goal of raising $750,000 for Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services. As we approach our 16th year we look forward to another record crowd and donations topping $800,000.

There are 3 ways to "run":
10K Timed Run, 5K Timed Run, 5K Fun Run/Walk

The race starts on Thanksgiving Morning, November 26, just West of the entrance to the Sacramento State campus and runs through East Sacramento. Rain or Shine!

There will be 2 separate start times.
Timed 10k Runners Only - 8:45 a.m. Please arrive early!
Timed 5k Runners Only - 9:05 am
All Untimed 5k Fun Run/Walkers - to follow behind 5k start.

Race Day Registration
7:30 a.m. until 9:00
Register online HERE

Adults: $35
Children (15 & under): $20
Teams Members: $50

Please look for the appropriate area for your event. There will be balloon arches to guide timed runners to their designated start areas. Also, announcements will made throughout the morning. The color of your bib determines which start area you belong in. All walkers and untimed runners and those with strollers & baby joggers will not be permitted into the 10k or 5k start areas.

Course Info:
New courses for both the 5k and 10k this year, and one finish line. While the courses continue to wind through the beautiful tree-lined streets of East Sacramento, some of the streets have changed. Important note: Both 5k and 10k events share the same finish line just east of the corner of Elvas Avenue and H Street.

Click map for enlarged course map.
