Beginning at 9th & I Streets
You may remember, in 2008, the parade was canceled due to lack of funding. Thanks to Mayor Kevin Johnson, who donated $20,000 from money left over from his inauguration account, the parade was saved is ready to roll again this weekend, the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
The parade will feature colorful holiday floats, marching bands, horses, clowns, and a special visit from Santa Claus. It will begin at Ninth and I streets and travel through downtown Sacramento, heading east on I Street to 13th street, south on 13th Street near the Convention Center, west on L Street, and north on Seventh Street. It will disband at Seventh and K streets. Announcers will be located on I Street between Ninth and 10th and at 11th and L streets.
Enjoy live children’s entertainment before the parade and lots of fun for the whole family! Bring some chairs and find a spot for you and your family anywhere along the parade route.
The parade brings more than 25,000 spectators to downtown Sacramento, so arrive early and plan accordningly.
